Commission

Definition

Commission: In Canadian insurance, the payment an insurance company makes to a licensed agent or broker when that person successfully sells or services an insurance policy. The amount is usually a percentage of the premium paid by the customer and is built into the price of the policy; it does not create an extra charge to the customer.
